This year the Canalys Navigation Forum has expanded and there are four separate events around the world all focusing on specific geographic markets and issues. The event in Budapest from the 8th – 10th September will be held at the award winning Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal, and will once again assemble the CEOs of the companies driving the industry forward.
Canalys forecasts that approximately 27 million mobile phones with integrated GPS and a further 25 million PNDs will ship in 2008 in EMEA. This level of location-aware, portable devices in the hands of consumers provides a platform for new business models to become viable, particularly advertising-funded location based services.
Concentrating on the EMEA region, this event will investigate the opportunities that exist within this scenario from a hardware, software and service perspective. It will provide a unique opportunity for delegates to gain valuable knowledge, and also to network with their peers from the ever-widening group of companies that need to cooperate to achieve success.
Confirmed attendees include: Orange, RIM, SiRF Technology, TomTom, deCarta, Navx, Magneti Marelli Electronic Systems, Tele Atlas, Nokia, Falcon Electronics, Journey Dynamics, SVOX, Logiball, Sony Ericsson, H3G, Appello, Pioneer Europe, Elektrobit Automotive GmbH, Ordnance Survey, Navigon AG, Medion AG, Freescale, Blaupunkt, Orkla Finans, Sygic, Faster Imaging, Navteq, Basarsoft Computer Systems Ltd.
